Following a spectacular year of review production and feature enhancements in 2021, Filmtracks continues strongly in 2022. The site has remained current on new coverage all year, a rarity in recent times, and traffic has steadily increased over the last two years after declining in the early days of the pandemic. Participation in the Scoreboard is robust, though it might make you hungry for hamburgers at the moment.

The coverage goals for 2022 are 40 reviews of all-new scores, 25 new reviews of older scores, and 35 revisions to existing reviews to account for new albums. The total reviews "touched" would be 100, a significant increase from the goal of 65 in prior years. In the first half of 2022, 43 all-new reviews and 29 re-writes were completed, with 22 of the new reviews representing older albums.

Though slightly behind last year's pace, this coverage puts the site far ahead of schedule on new reviews of older scores and the re-writes accounting for expanded and re-issued albums, with the reviews of current, all-new scores about on schedule. Note that most of the new reviews of older scores and the re-writes have not yet debuted on the site; there is enough coverage waiting to last most of the remainder of the year.

Remarkable stability in my day job, including remote work that has eliminated my ferry commute, continues to be the reason I have time to keep Filmtracks production high. The only detraction has come from my forest restoration work and participation in an ongoing campaign and legal case against local clear-cutters who threaten that dream. It appears that battle will last for years to come, and you can support us here: https://gofund.me/aad8d0d8.

Aside from the reviews, the only major task scheduled for Filmtracks later this year is the cloning of its server to another AWS solution in September, a routine task that needs managed every three years. The site should experience no (or minimal) downtime during that transition. Look for coverage to continue its steady pace of debut for the remainder of the year.

Thanks again for all your support of Filmtracks and my forest restoration work!

Christian
