Starting today, Filmtracks is debuting coverage of previously unreviewed soundtracks from prior years that receive the highest interest from readers. These are film scores that were not featured in previous "modern classics" review surveys and, while they may not be classics, the readers have made it known that the coverage is desired.

The following four metrics will be used as the criteria to determine which older scores are reviewed now for the first time:

1. Unreviewed scores most entered into Filmtracks' internal search engine.
2. Unreviewed scores that are part of major franchises for which the others were reviewed.
3. Unreviewed scores for box office successes from 2015-2019 that slipped by.
4. Unreviewed scores from major composers that typically see demand on all their reviews.

For the most part, the site will still concentrate on reviewing music from 1975 onward, but some exceptions will be made. No reviews of video game or television music are planned.

These new reviews will be sprinkled into the "On Cue" section of the Filmtracks home page in between continuing re-writes of existing reviews that account for new albums. Look for these all-new reviews to be revealed throughout 2022 and perhaps beyond.

The first in the series is a special review that was written on the 25th anniversary of Filmtracks. I hope you enjoy these overdue reviews!
